This rose is made of paper
a fact that's sad but true
it will never have the sweet smell
that the real one's do
it's never been touched by sunshine
or been kissed by dew
but the tears balled up inside of me
will water it for you
even if it breaks the pedals off
& the roses life is threw
just like the love i have
it's beauty was so true
although we are so far apart
& my heart is very blue
with one red rose you should see
just what I feel for you
so no matter what this tells you
& no matter what you do
all these words are saying
is simply I love you
