That Wanderer

Contributed by LilDrifter on Wednesday, 4th April 2012 @ 12:56:09 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Running from this shadow who follows so close behind.
You feel that rage and fury in that crumbling state of mind.
And sadness burns so very deep that happiness remains only in dreams.
Who is that beat down wanderer, who is so very lost it seems.

Burning pain, emotional torture, that corrupt trapped soul.
Strolling the earth, unaware its sinking furthur into an emotional black hole.
Fight little drifter, battle those demon walls.
But little drifter continues to fail as its plunging to its fall.

Imprisoned now, darkness is all that can be seen, light is no where to be found.
Just pain, just torture. That wanderer is bound.
Bound to that past, flooded with secrets, confused on how to set one free.
Bound to the present and future, too afraid to let one be.

So that tortured soul continues to drift, unable to spread its truths.
Holding tight to what it knows, a life of mental abuse.
Oh little wanderer I continue to wonder, why you follow so close behind ?
Who is this broken shadow, what are you so eger to find ?

Until I answered my own question.
With such sadness yet aggression.
That haunted, angered soul was mine.
That i was not expecting.

I thought this was a great piece that had total connection to yourself. Keep up the good work. And from my opinion, the best poems come straight from the poets heart.

I love poetry like this... it comes from the heart. You can feel it in the cadence and flow. You can feel it in the words. I felt it.
