trying to find the answer

searching for the answer
of what I seek to find
it has to do with poetry
that's always on my mind
filling empty voids
with the words that seem to fit
then if it don't come out right
I end up deleting it
I want only words
that are truer than true
I want only skies
that are bluer than blue
I want only words
that the heart can feel
I want only topics
that are totally real
I want nothing more
but the best I can do
my words must flow
from me to you
if it was'nt for that
I'm sure I would know it
I could have never held the name
the hot shot poet
so read with your heart
instead of your eye's
maybe by chance
you will realize
words are simple
it's the heart that knows
if a poem is to fit
or if it must go
the hot shot poet

| It's true hotshot, a poem cannot be forced through the mind. If it doesn't pour from the heart it's not worth bothering with. Thanks for sharing. |
