~***~ This place ; a chasm vast and empty. Structures , in wind-haunted silence , stand. Today is dream , today is nothing ( endless plains , sayeth the wind ).
A thousand years , sayeth the wind...
Are we the last to wander here ; We , patches stitched with string , who's souls whisper thru the rocks and hide inside the nothing things.
( nothingness of abandoned shadows ).
We drift 'longside these titan ruins that stretch like cliffs o'er deserts of grass. What gods could raise these silent towers , what long dead gods who speak no more?
Towers dreamt and spoke no more.
They left only the colossal wind that wanders amid these sky bound pillars. They left only us , the soul whispered shadows abandoned and hidden in sorrow-swept nothingness. ~***~

I was swept away in this one. Awesome work! I am going to read it again.

I started commenting on this yesterday, while at work, but got sidetracked
and then logged out and forgot. :(
Good news is, it allowed me to come back in today and fully experience
the emotion and wonder residing in and between each and every line.
Doug, this was like walking through a dream--a definite ethereal feel to it.
As always, there is a darkness, but somehow your words make the reader
want to swim in through the shadows that dance so seamlessly
with the softness that also exists here. Completely sigh-inducing.
What a wonderful read. ^_^
