there was a time in my life
so precious & so true
I had the perfect woman
my one & only you
but from thinking that I had it made
the one I held so dear
found a better life
without the misery & beer
I never seem to be around
when she needed me to be
so there is noone else to blame
no one else but me
I thought I had found happiness
being all alone
but I found that there's no happiness
for me now that she's gone
so to you & our babies
the six my dreams are all made of
I need for you to know
you are my true love
the hot shot poet
