The Performance

Contributed by PreciousKitten on Friday, 20th April 2012 @ 01:31:50 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

here i am
on center stage
with an empty room
and no people in it

nerves are up
confidence low
with only racing thoughts
go through the mind

they call my name
i start turning red
my hands are sweating
my face shows
that i am not used to
this spotlight

the spotlight is where i stand
with hopes that i dont mess up my act
and the only things
that goes through my mind is.......

i hope you notice me
when i am performing my heart out
so please do me one thing
and dont laugh at my act

when you feel like you're under pressure about anything in your life,
just go with the flow and do your best
give your best performance
so you can be remembered.

Awesome poem, and so true! And by the way, I play piano, and yeah...I get pretty nervous sometimes. But when I just go with the flow and enjoy the music it really does work! :)
