Encounter

Contributed by northernlights on Saturday, 21st April 2012 @ 03:05:10 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Natures

Meeting ground levels the playing field

Where scorpions happen to dance.

And dance we do with a sting in our tail!

Voices of venom spit with smiles of theatrical perfection.

Painted faces of society spread connection propaganda,

And muscles flex with snide quips, an embrace of liquid

Habitual demonstration, as viper for a secondary moment

Uncoils to sense presence, use ,possibility of satisfaction

Uncertainty hangs in the silence broken only by gentle

Hissing of the aftermath of encounter

And Society slides home

Those damn Scorpios. Always stinging. Of course one my best friends is a Scorpio.

Someone's always trying to sell us the hype, are they not? But then we can come to YPDC and escape all that crap and read great poems like yours making statements about all their rubbish.

Real people, that's what I like.

Thank you, Anna!

Every time I read one of your poems I'm struck by something different and amazing in your writing. This one is no exception (though it is exceptional).
Cheers,
Mickey.

Hi Anna,

Your usual standard of excellence in this very
thought-provoking piece of verse.

Well said.

Tommy
