Fraying twine tied 'round thin blue-veined wrists taut as a violin string eyes wide with fear 'neath a mask whose smile conceals thousands of unsaid things. Regret and confusion, hope lost and regained this grotesque smile is where sureness is feigned. The twine is pulled tight the soul torn in two one one side, nostalgia, one the other, it's new. And there's no one there, she's all alone so she musters up all the strength that she owns there's only one way forward and no way back so she pulls back the curtain and goes into the black.
