I could'nt see life beyond the beer in the glass I could not see a future or Remember a past All I thought about was beer untill it was done Then all I wanted to know is where the next one came from That was Reality All that I could see & somewhere in the drinking I lost a grip on me Nothing seemed to matter While I had another drink I could see that I had lost My ability to think well I let go of my drinking Now this is what I do instead of wanting beer writing is what I do the hot shot poet

I am sincerely glad to see that you are a survivor. I know at least three people who died too young and I am sure drinking to an excess helped contribute to their early deaths. I applaud you.
