This is my place on this earth.
Its not a big place a fine place, its not mine
But its my space.
The front door is old and as you enter thats not
My carpet. I put my colour on the walls and I like
It. Our furniture lasts, second hand is my designer
Label, Durable and it catches my eye! My pride is
Expressed in how long something lasts, there is an
Attachment to be experienced when items are with
You for the duration, A chair is functional, and the
Tele is at least up to the nineties now!Its not a show
Room, and items take over occasionally migrating,or
Waiting unexpectedly across floors, having been slung
After Life's enjoyment, After neglecting domesticity, and in my
Space is warmth of welcome, heart and spirit,a cat or two
To trip over, a comfy if somewhat worn chair to slump,
A cuppa or something stronger, a friendly roast, a place
where it matters not, what you wear or where you are from
A place where you are welcome.

| There is a comfort like no other that a person gets from the familiarity of their own home. You captured that perfectly. I feel bad for anyone who has not experienced this feeling. I feel more comfortable just reading this poem. :) |

| Hi Anna, Be it ever so humble there's no place like home! Don't have any cats to trip over but there is an odd book or two. My flat (apartment) is my castle, and my castle is a flat. Nice one Anna. Tommy |
