I heard a country song today
for me it did inspire
called an angel with no halo
& one wing in the fire
as I listen to the words
the poetry in the song
I was amazed how it fit my dad
not one word was wrong
it brought up some old memories
I thought I'd left behind
but I guess somewhere or somehow
they've always been on my mind
it's Rare that I have happy thoughts
about the man that I called dad
usually when I think of him
the memories are all bad
he must have done something right
because I'm still alive today
I never thought I would be
but life works out that way
so without a doubt it fit him
with a very strong desire
he was an Angel with no halo
& one wing in the fire
