something so addictive
I cannot tell you why
it starts out small & grows
this thing is called a lie

they always start out small
& then they seem to grow
they never seem to stop
this is how I know

I'm fed up with the people
who do it & don't know why
they don't know how to function
unless they get to lie

they can't see the addiction
but to me it's very clear
they do not care how it hurts
they simply have no fear

so if you get caught up
in this mixed up little way
be prepared to face reality
it will catch up to you one day
the hot shot poet
