Lifepoems

On a day of stormy sky and promise, I remember my father "There is no idea that does not have its consequences," He often said, and would talk of character And of the significance of the mundane
There is no idea that does not have its consequences I think about the consequences when the rain comes And of the significance of the mundane But I'm afraid I'm growing old, and finding all is mundane
I think about the consequences when the rain comes I don't want to do anything for fear of doing nothing But I'm afraid I'm growing old, and finding all is mundane Searching for significance, I don't know where to look
I don't want to do anything for fear of doing nothing Paralyzed by choices, one yes is a thousand nos Searching for significance, I don't know where to look The rain falls, I think about trying
Paralyzed by choices, one yes is a thousand nos One life a thousand deaths, and how shall I live? The rain falls, I think about trying Loving, living, and dying. It's not all the same.
One life is a thousand deaths, and how shall I live? I must choose, or die. And so I choose Loving. Living and dying, it's not all the same And I do not want a life of this rain.

The repetition works really well in this poem...
Very thoughtful... I can really identify with it. |
