A MORTAL HAND

Contributed by hray42 on Tuesday, 22nd May 2012 @ 04:00:11 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

a mortal hand stretches upward
reaching for a piece of heaven
grasping nothing, only air
an empty palm is worn uneven

a mortal hand strikes hard the earth
unexpected is the blow
an act observed by only one
as frustration starts to grow

a mortal dreaming as no other
one who has the mind to think
every star becomes a puzzle
each a fountain from which to drink

a mortal who yearns to be a god
to make escape from certain laws
who instead is pressed into insanity
unaware of his many flaws

a mortal who cradles an obsession
a need to solve a riddle
one who will not come to rest
or fall into a common middle

a mortal hand stretches upward
reaching for a piece of heaven
grasping nothing, only air
an empty palm is worn eneven...

intriguing poem, shows that you have thought alot about the nature of spirituality and the nature of those that strive to find it,
not questioning and striving to understand
would be crazy , -nice poem

hugs n' love nessa
