I Don't Love You

Contributed by Tres_estrellas on Thursday, 31st May 2012 @ 04:55:25 AM in AEST
Topic: toughstuff

I want to be honest with you,
but I just can't talk to you.
I want to tell you what I am thinking,
But you just aren't listening.

I wish I could tell you,
How I don't love you.

I want to leave you here,
But my leaving is what you fear.
I don't want to hurt you,
But what am I left to do?

I wish I could tell you,
That I don't want to be with you.

Your demands on me are sucking me dry,
and I am sick of hearing you'll try.
How many chances does one man get?
It goes on and on, just like your debt!

I wish I could tell you,
That I am leaving you.

I am sick of putting so much in,
and getting so little back.
I want to explore and learn and expand,
but your mind is stuck on your one track.

I wish I could tell you,
and wish you'd accept it.

Other men, I fantasize and dream,
Of one who will treat me like a queen.
I am so isolated by you, you hold me back,
And I am so desperate for my life back.

I want to feel love, I want to feel pride,
I want a man to stand by my side,
One who pushes me to do my best,
And one whose friendship is not stressed.

I wish I could tell you,
I don't want to hurt you,
But there is nothing left for us anymore.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
