A new day has begun
And yesterday is no more
I lie in bed and wonder
What today has in store.
How I face it
Is totally up to me
It could be good or bad
Which one do I want it to be?
Do I get up
Or simply stay in bed
Do I throw back the covers
Or cover up my head.
And then I look out my window
And what do I see
One of God's miracles
Shining down on me.
I know God is speaking to me
In his own special way
To you I have given
Another beautiful day.
On my knees I get down
And say my morning prayer
And I thank him again
For always being there.
I will make this day
One of my very best
And with God's help
I will get thru the rest
