Sometimes I wake up
From crying in the night
I had a bad dream
And it gave me such a fright.
But you are always there
To calm me down
It is so nice to know
That you are always around.
I depend on you
Though independent I try to be
I like the way
You take such good care of me.
You are the strength
That always gets me through
I don't know where I would be
If if wasn't for you.
We were friends when I
First met you
But then became soul mates
The day that we said I do.
I knew when I married you
It would be till death do us part
When I said I do
It was with all my heart.
I have grown closer to you
With each passing day
I know I will always be with you
Come what may.
You have my heart
My soul and my love
I know you were sent to me
From the man up above.
Your love I treasure
More than my own life
You made me so very happy
The day I became your wife.
In the years that have passed
We had two wonderful boys
As they grew up
They gave us both tears and joy.
I wonder sometimes
Just where I would be
If I had not met you
And you had not met me.
I lie back down
From my bad dream
Which now was not as bad
As it first seemed.
Your arm is around me
And I feel all safe inside
I no longer feel
Like I have to run and hide.
As I go back to sleep
There is a smile on my face
I know that there is no one
That could ever take your place.
