i should not
have went in
that far with him
the waters were too harsh
the waves too large
and
faithless
the bottom
current
pulled me in
and
my son out
for one
forever moment
i lost touch with him
the waters had him
more
than
i did
i did not
see his body
under the water
when i
took him back
it was all luck
or
a
god
that gave him back to me
when we go back
to the waters edge
i kiss his forehead
and thank
the
saint lawrence seaway
for not taking
my
son
with her
