sweet summer
blooms in action
your cat
verses the camera
no creature should be that cute-
except in legend
or through some deadly spell. . .
you tell me it's your ex-girlfriend
come back to "speak no evil"
we laugh. . .
our laughter chases the sun
as it sets across the tracks
summer day
pre-made in some heavenly concoction
I sit. . . criss-cross, applesauce
my pencil
verses your camera
avenging a thousand words
reflexively. . .
like a spirit in the night
like a light cutting through darkness
. . . I taste a hint
of summer
on the last whisper
of your lips
salvation for a poet's soul. . .

commission green
double up on your spell of love
& I'll watch over you
like a secret keeper. . .
