Song of the Canyon
Meet me at the canyon wall Where the red dust settles into pools And the sago lilies drink We will walk by the water Rushing down the desert floor Into the future, yours and mine Until the rapids part us in their ruin, As our past wounds us in our age And the earth gathers us to Where the prairie flowers grace our graves. Then we shall arise again to Meet the red blood canyon walls Where the cliffs climb one upon another Until they reach the clouds Lifting us above the sun Into heavens door, Together one and one to paradise
