Grief

All your life, you've held yourself strong The doctor keeps saying it won't be long So stubborn your will, can't leave us behind Determined to protect your loves entwined
You stood tall in the face of life endangered You carried your strength, fear never catered Now is your time to rest; your duty is done Home is before you, a path of one
God's arms await you; your golden home built You can go forward, carry no inner guilt You'll watch over us, share love from your cloud We'll carry you within, sing your praises out loud
Man, father, brother, friend, all roles you fulfilled Your life a success; you've done as God willed Our love sends you forth on the wings of a butterfly We'll try to understand although we will question why
Forever in our hearts, engrained in our souls Tearfully say, go softly now, your bell does toll We'll share another day, sing our loves' song Until then, be home with God where you belong

This is so sad, yet so warm and beautiful. Really moving poem! |
