caught within a pattern
that appears to stay with me
chewing on my pride
devouring dignity
I use to see potential
what my dreams were all made of
now all I seem to be
is lost in love
lost within this circle
of this place & time
I feel like I've done something wrong
like I've committed a crime
but I would not indanger
my kids,my wife or me
though life is never simple
with my own reality
I look up to the sky
& I ask the lord above
why must I be
lost in love

Love can feel like a trap,
a slayer of your dreams,
it can wrap you in its shroud,
to be carried down its stream,
its the path that many want,
and the one that some don't choose,
but remember friend... appreciate,
and you really cannot lose.
