She cradled you safely within her arms
Marveled at your beauty, sweet charms
Her only goal bringing love and joy to you
Pride and wonderment in all you could do
She kissed away all that brought you scares
Held your hand as you climbed life's stairs
Stood guard, forced evils to run and hide
Knew that your promise was in life's tide
With each success, each disaster brought
She never wavered from a mother's one thought
You know her love can be counted on always
To guide you along time's strange highways
The years bring sadness as time ebbs life down
What was there yesterday often can't be found
Never forget that this woman that began you
Holds you fast in her soul with a mother's glue
What made the essence that contains her heart
Resides within the love she gave from the start
Cherish the moment, each glancing sweet touch
Mother to child forever together in a timeless clutch
