Dr. Izzie Steven's Pain

Contributed by FragileStrength on Thursday, 30th August 2012 @ 03:38:30 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

It hurts
everywhere.
It doesnt drift in and out
it just hurts.
A constant pain
thats always there.

Every time I close my eyes
hes there.
I see his face
I can feel him.
But I dont remember
the sparkle in his eye
that I fell in love with.
Or the laughter in his voice
That warmed my stomach
and made me feel safe.

Hes already gone
but Im still losing him.
At first I was stunned.
I didnt have time to react
to understand
I didnt have time to feel this pain.
But now,
now that its his memory I'm loosing
I can react
I can understand
and I feel this pain.
The fading memories are slow
are deliberate
and each one pierces my heart
until I cry.

Every where
It hurts everywhere.

I read the description and, to be honest, didn't think there'd be much emotional engagement.
You certainly proved me wrong. Beautiful, emotive writing.
Cheers,
Mickey.
