Unrequited Love

Contributed by ImAPoetAndDidntKnowIt on Monday, 24th September 2012 @ 10:35:48 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

I met her through a good friend
So I didn't think twice about there being an end
We really hit it off, so it seemed to me
But little did I know, she was satan underneath

She glowed like the sun
I really thought she was the one
When I was with her
Everything else was a blur

But what I thought, was off by miles
Misled by her beautiful smile
Thanks to her seductive cloak
But it was all just a hoax
To her, it was all just one big joke

Before I could express my true feelings
Our quote, unquote 'relationship' turned sour
I truly thought she was one hell of a friend
Only to find out I had come to another dead end
I was thinking with my heart and not my head

As quickly as she had come into my life
She was gone again
And the thought of 'us' had come to a dreadful end

But should I really just let her go
My head says yes, but my heart says no
Not a single day goes by
Without her crossing my mind

I've been told from time to time
That I should never give up
On the ones that DO cross my mind
Without exceeding that period of time

Yep, I've know a few of those. Married and divorced one.

I like this and can very well relate. Nicely done.

"But little did I know, she was satan underneath"

Yep, this line did it for me, too. Great piece of writing right there. The thing about finding love is you can't go looking for it, it finds you when you least expect it. Then again, what do I know? After all, I'm in the same place you are!

Keep penning!
