Day Dreamer

I walk through the prairies,
And ponder on the stories.
Of wars,
From where the eagle soars.

I think of the days ahead,
Remembering what the white man said.
Yet, I know many will live,
In a world of regret.

From our land,
They have chased us.
Our land,
They've claimed for their own.
Stripping us,
Of all that we have ever known.

We are Native America,
And they are what ?

I dream of a time,
When these mountains were once mine.
Free to forever roam,
Free to forever call home.

We now live on a reservation,
In a world,
That has become a political nation.
Living with their aggravation.

Visions of tomorrow,
Show nothing but sorrow.
For there is no hope
For the road I now follow.

I dream of life,
Full of love and happiness.
A land that I can call,
All so bliss.

Where the land,
Once again becomes free.
Where the land,
Once again becomes clean.

I dream of a land,
That was once all so grand.
A time when nature,
Was a part of man.

We use to hunt,
Only to survive.
You hunted,
Why ?

They call me,
Day Dreamer.
What do they call you,
Stranger ?
