Gracious the Lord is my dear
For providing all I need and bestowing on me boons
Come and partake of my God-given joy
And in return share with me all you delight in my boy
I am ecstatic as you render me your successes
Surely such gifts are equal to Sir Gawain's
Except the origin of noble love I trust remains
Yet if that shameful sash is revealed
Forgiveness and understanding shall adorn you instead
Oh chivalrous lover--so courteous and humble
How unworthy I feel to be your fair maiden
Yet kisses sweet as sugar reassure my wavering heart
That you, my Gawain, deem me your pearl, your greatest blessing

| Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is one of my favorite pieces of literature, so this poem was obviously right up my alley. I absolutely loved reading this! |
