Saturday's Dream

Contributed by mchall629 on Sunday, 11th November 2012 @ 10:50:39 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I often have this recurring dream,
As peaceful as a mountain stream.
Like lying out under a sky of blue,
Or hearing a thousand I love You's.

In my dream everything in life is right,
The world is easy requiring little fight.
There is plenty of rest throughout the day,
After you and your loved one have had time to play.

The beds are covered in the finest silk,
While the roses never fade or wilt.
Storm clouds refuse to bring the rain,
Except as an excuse to cuddle and ease pain.

Sunshine is warm and easy on the skin,
And you never worry about losing friends.
The nights are only as long as we need,
But long enough to fully catch up on sleep.

You never have to worry about losing true love,
Although sometimes we might need a little shove.
Arguments will only arise when they are needed,
To rekindle a spark that might be depleting.

I Love You's are always returned two fold,
And warming embraces received when you're cold.
Being with the one you love hand in hand,
Writing your names and drawing hearts in the sand.

Some would criticize and say it's foolish of me,
That I could ever imagine this kind of dream.
They'd say that no such place could ever exist,
If I would refute they would continue to insist.

My argument to them would be just this,
That they've never been able to taste her kiss.
They haven't been with her throughout the night,
Or had the privilege to have her in their life.

I have so I can imagine all of these things,
I know what kind of happiness she can bring.
Tonight I dream that she is here with me,
And dream that someday dreams become reality.
