I do love to sleep and dream, Once out I am serene, Lost in a world that I design, Of mystery and illusion incarnate, Beneath covers, impatiently I wait.
I do love to sleep and dream, Unique, I find my nightly scene, Each day excited, down I lay, Covers up, I close my eyes, Anxious to meet the lies.
I do love to sleep and dream, And leave this world of not so green, Only this can numb the pain, Shut out the truth of reality, And its inherent brutality.
I do love to sleep and dream, But less and less I like the scene, I think that I've lost what once I had, And all this time I was away, Alone in darkness, there I lay.
I do love to sleep and dream, But more and more awake I scream, The world is bleak and loves me not, But to deny its truth cements my fate, A fickle life, a lonely state.

| Strangely the truth can make discomfort and pain peaceful and this is what this made me feel, for as much as you are talking of disturbance and uneasiness the combination of that with the healing comfort and security bed and dreaming represents creates an impasse. |
