You promise life
But how do I hang on?
I strive daily
To make the right choices
Only to see how
Ive failed you
One more time
Yet you forgive me
But again
And again
When you stretch your arms
Toward me
I latch on
Like the missing link
Thats been found
When my soul
Takes a deep dive
You meet me at the bottom
Only to pull me out
And lift me higher
I cry out to you
In my own way
And you understand me
For who I am
You have my back
When all else
Has turned against me
You promise life
But how do I hang on?
