Daddy come home

Contributed by shelby on Sunday, 16th December 2012 @ 02:52:48 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Raindrops instead of snow,
that's how it is here in the winter
almost Christmas time
Holiday shopping and cheer.

He drove off to work his stand at the mall
making extra money for Christmas
an incredible man, husband, father and friend to all.
Always a smile and a word of good cheer
these are things the rest of us have come to hear.

Early that morning life here for everyone has changed
a lone young gunman with a black mask
in the mall suddenly raced.
Pop, pop, pop, pop the sounds everyone heard
as the fury of hell soon was unfurled.

Two people lay dead on the mall floor
another young girl with her friend fighting it all
people all running, mothers taking their children off Santa's lap
people lay dead, everyone filled with dread.

Daddy come home, come home to us please
it's almost Christmas, we need you oh please daddy don't you leave.
A man a stranger on the floor at his side
doing his best but he still died.

A senseless act of violence, I cannot comprehend
has our communities stunned our hearts filled with dread.
Someone's daddy isn't home tonight to tuck them into bed
someone's husband is gone, someone's life long dear friend.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the families, we are all just heartbroken over the events of this week.

Two people Steven Mathew Forsyth, 45, of West Linn and Cindy Ann Yuille, 54, of Portland were killed, and another, Kristina Shevchenko, was wounded and in serious condition on Wednesday.

Heartbreatkig Michelle. I just saw the memorial service for the Newtown angels and their heroc protectors. Theology can ot answer these question. Only faith in a loving God that can brig good out of the most hideous evil.
Deeply touching. Daddy will always watch over his loved one in God.
