Evil slid sideways through
The morning light
It rode the smile of Mephistopheles
Into his purpose driven emptiness
Twenty seven souls;
The contract was insanely specific
The small ones horrific
Sacrifice, the payment to his void
If there is place in heaven for their goodness
There is a place in hell for his rage.
