"The Chains I've Built"
These chains I've built, a heavy load Holding onto this moral code In the name of me or maybe God Maybe it's just an old facade
For a moment I felt the sweet release The whispering grass, a softer peace Moonlight pouring thru, gleaming And time no longer had meaning
You came to me and we were in the dark There's no use in diminishing the heart I could see the damage and the impact Too much respect to perform that act
These chains so heavy, binding me Always clanging and reminding me And why does it feel so misplayed If I believe in these chains I've made?
Now, you're walking away into the mist I'm dreaming of a night we kissed And watching the vapours of what might have been Had I committed a sweeter sin
