Down the pier, at the end of the dock, where the boats pull in to fuel up, there's always a chair, As a captain's aware while his boat dines on diesel for sup.
After fueling is done and the boats had their fun The captains head back to their slips, It is then that I know To those chairs I can go as I think about poems and some quips.
Sometimes I find that my mind seems to bind, I assure you, it isn't the booze, It's just what I think Does not have any link, So I call on Calliope Muse.
You know of her sisters and you know of her dad, and you know you had better be good, Calliope can at the drop of her hand make all that was blocked...understood.
To write and to dance and to paint..here's a tip the muses will help..if your nice, The muscle man 'Herc' says they're known for their work and he's right..to my poems they add spice.
Call Terpsichore if..'dance' is your thing and you want to make sure you're Astaire, Just give me the word and as quick as a bird, She'll perform for you right in mid-air.
Those that don't know..can't believe that it's so and think the above is too bold, Just give it a try and you'll see by and by, your arts will improve by ten fold.

Norm, this has inspired a poem which I will post tomorrow (you will receive due credit)
I have been so busy with replies and comments that the muse .left me ( she can be a vindictive cow when she's ignored) |
