My Soldier

Contributed by LoveMySoldier10 on Thursday, 24th January 2013 @ 09:14:43 PM in AEST
Topic: Tributes

He looks like an ordinary man too you
Though too me he is much more then just that typical view
little did you know, he is always away
gone for months, through night an day
His uniform is on, his boots are laced, steady in one hand
His gun is braced
He is true to his duty, so he always stands strong
No matter how hard things get he pushes along
Standing so tall at his military post
Back home he leaves behind the one he loves most
His heart is with her, his head is in game
Locked and loaded he is ready to aim
She holds his heart tight, He hold his gun right
Knowing she home, he is ready to fight
Month after month, though it seems like forever
He finally comes home, the deployment is over
His uniform is off, his boots are unlaced, steady in one hand
Her hand is braced
He is true to his duty, and right now that is her,
His job as a soldier is just a blur
But when he returns, it starts again
He is an American soldier, and my life is him!
