Gently smoothing back your hair
Watching as you quietly sleep
Your face relaxes with no care
Hide my tears as I silently weep
Drama claimed the last few days
Screaming voices meld with time
Wish we could change our ways
Both prosecuting an unknown crime
Hidden smiles remember a start
Both so young; love was new
The moment faith touched my heart
Seconds when life began with you
No memory of what caused the fight
Blanking out at the first wrong word
I believe we can make this right
Our love make this fight absurd
Love is our spirit as we are human
A mind can plant a hurtful seed
Deep down we know how to begin
The clean slate upon which we agreed
Wake up, let's put this all in the past
Join me, our love and life renewed
Speaking the words that will last
Together bidding the fight adieu
