So the ones who you thought ate the world
Came back to life as mannequin girls
To no surprise they stole out your eyes
Now you really know what I mean
When I declare, wow, love is so blind

But don't desert the world
(as much as you'd want to)
No, don't desert the world
You have so much more to hold on to

So don't desert the world...

Because not all expectations meet
When a crow decimates a truth so sweet
It's like a great classic line spun over
A sun-blasted enigma
Wandering in their deep valleys
For when there's no wisdom you can't find the follies
And we stop going but not for long
Because the trail hasn't gone cold
Even when there is not a hand left to hold

Don 't desert this world
Forget get about all of your rainy seasons
If you have a world then pledge your allegiance
To stay alive
Never forget
If they stick you with the first laugh
They'll bury you with the last
And you can be there to wish them
A safe flight into your past
