Serpent Spring

Contributed by Lee on Thursday, 21st March 2013 @ 06:41:52 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I was shot in the leg
It was not her fault only
The lines were drawn so heavy
So I kept to my wounds
Wept these deaths
Sowing seeds of serpent Spring
""Retreat until late morning""
said my green tears
The wolf is outside.

Woman of the city
I reach out to you
The world is afraid of seeing you
On your throne
We adore you, alone

I didn't forget the time we spent
Together, as though I need to tell you
I see light glowing from your eternal self
The wind is calling to me
What answer must I give?

All love is gone.
My heart escapes inside the dawn
What faint whisper calls me back to you?
Why can't I let loose of your scarlet grace?
When I stare at the sky I see only your face
The lips are telling me the mysteries of our fates

Mourning winds call you away from me, again
Let's bid farewell the way it was meant for us to end
And like death we'll always leave
To go with the serpent Spring

Thank-you for introducing me to the concept of Serpent spring as infrequent as the appearance of love and maybe if cynical as elusive and deceptive but definitely answered by Nature's Intent, enjoyed the depth of your writing.
