Injustice

Contributed by Bigj on Tuesday, 26th March 2013 @ 12:18:11 AM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

The storm was brutal
Forever changed by one day
Pieces of me lost with the wind.
My passion submerged by rain

I stayed and fought
Out of love from my heart
But at what cost did I pay
With eyes upon me like the stars.

Judging the aftermath
Picking through the debree
What right do they have?
For this storm they did not even see

Only the tales from the wind
Paint their picture within
Yet they judge me
Where were they when the storm began

But I stayed
And fought for what I believed in.
So look within your self
Where were you for your friend

Yet the stars gaze their gaze
Judge with ignorant flames
Keep the debree out from your hands.
Unless you were there that day

For I did no wrong
For I was forever changed that day
The wind came in like fire
And did my best to keep the flames at bay.

ouch. good one. i went thru similar myself and was misread leading to further injury. when someone stops believing in you and what you could be, life turns to crap.
"Unless you were there that day."
people mess up then defend themselves but never recognize others doing the same.
and so it goes. thanks for posting

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
