Sometimes I can't help but wonder
Set my mind a flame, leaving memories cinder
I can't stop the flames from spreading
Into deeper emotion, I am treading
Thinking people, thinking about you
Thinking that I might love you
Until even you can see the light
My love is shining even through the dark of night
We come close as the fire rages
I can't even write my love for you
It would require too many pages
Then the flames calm and turn blue
We come closer but you seem to be afraid
but like the fire, that eventually had to fade
You bring me closer to light than anything
Even if I had flown close on an phoenix wing
I look into your eyes and forget the world
The mystery of life is about to come unfurled
But you and I haven't experienced this yet
It could happen though, I totally bet
Even in that large display of affection
It could go the other direction
with you in my arms
warm, even without fire.....
