Flaws above perfection

We will live then die
We will fall then fly
We will laugh then cry
We will be honest then lie

We are good and evil
We are a person and a group of people
We are strong and feeble
We are clever and deceitful

Perfection, an unreachable goal
Completion, an Impossible task
Affection, an emotion that dwindles away
Complexion, an image hidden behind a mask

Flaws should be cherished.
Harnessed to understanding.
They create who we are
Yet perfection we are Demanding

A nation of independence
Yet we stand shackled and chained.
Conforming to a worldwide image.
Without reason, without being explained
