Where's Your Fella, Cinderella?

Contributed by stalkee on Saturday, 13th April 2013 @ 01:35:06 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Inside her eyes, the deepest void
She tries to fill it in with sex and boys
She swears each time, it's the last night
As she cries and breaks with morning's light

She cries 'til she's stripped bare
She cries 'til her eyes match her hair
Burning red, but the tears feel like ice
As she runs in place like other mice

And when the ice comes down her face
She remembers forsaking love to try and chase
Some Cinderella dream in her world of make believe
But the Castle and fireworks were only to deceive

Prince Charming twisted into a hissing snake
With every step, her slippers began to break
'til her feet were walking on shattered glass
But the pain was naught compared to her past

She traverses the spires in her mind
But, still, she can never find
the answers she's been looking for
She just runs away and slams the door

Then she prays to God and wonders how
Her life came to this place of here and now
From here, she's far above the city's light
Where she wants to dive into darkened night
