Not Ready to Move On

Contributed by GSAS082512 on Monday, 15th April 2013 @ 11:28:45 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Walk down the hall
Dont you dare look back at me,
But I hope. I hope
Youre looking so cute
Youre messed up black hair
Youre smiling and laughing
Youre touching her skin
Im dreaming of you
And that last kiss we shared
For every damn moment
I swore you cared
But you weren't there
You were on a different route
I thought you loved me
But I guess I was wrong
The differences between love and lust
Are the feelings I feel for you
You love to touch her
To kiss her and hold her
But that just wasn't what it was like for us
You used to stare in my eyes
Kiss my lips and laugh,
Wed write down I love you
On purple post its in church
We held on so tight
But you were letting go
I thought I would see it
But I just didn't, you know
Im stronger now than before
The things that mattered
They dont matter anymore
But my heart still pounds
My lips still tremble
My heart skips a beat
I feel lightheaded
I am so weak
But that is what I get
For falling for you.
Kiss and miss
Love and lust
Lost and found
You were there
You were gone.
Dont look at me,
Please dont tell me!
Dont say you've moved on
I know that its true
But dont let me know.
I dont want to know
It will hurt me
My heart will pound
The tears will pour
My heart will shatter
And break once more
Give me one more day
Please give me one more chance
I dont if I can take it again
I cant handle this, my friend
Just let me lie here in a memory
Let me forget youre gone
Someday I will realize
That you have moved on

How well you have described everything we say to ourselves when we know what we don't want to know!
After the line "Please give me one more chance", I suspect there is a word missing in the next line?..
Keep using your gift for clarity in your poetry!
