Tones of the Unseen

Contributed by zeberdee on Wednesday, 24th April 2013 @ 07:26:55 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

I'm home from work, with a weird noise in my head
I feel senseless, unguided, purposeless and see-through
I gaze with a blank empty expression at my bed
I haven't grasped anything, I learned nothing new
The weird sounds ring back and forth somewhere
They're almost mute, so I listen with care
They whisper a hymn on the passivity of our civilization
..it's deafened by noise, I can't decipher these sounds hiding in the air
I look to the source of the noise - my television and my passive sedation
Noisy teenagers make their rounds in a reality show on the screen
I lay myself in bed with a feeling of despair
while the triviality on the screen blocks out the tones of the unseen
So much I would give to hear enlightenment
But I am kept in trivial confinement

love it, but enlightenment is a journey through hell and back, madness and a new reality emerges, the only one that seems to fit, there is no going back like neo you choose the red pill or the blue, and you make do with the end results, great writing

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
