In my Mind

Contributed by davemus on Wednesday, 8th May 2013 @ 03:08:47 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

I see your face in the whiteness of billowing clouds.
I hear your voice in the softness of gentle rain.
In the sunlight's brightness, I see your laugh,
Like music on a living page.
In dreams I savor your scent and your flavor.
We travel unhindered on sweet forbidden paths of ecstasy,
Til the day breaks and I lose you to harsh reality.

I see your lips in the petals of delicate flowers.
I hear you move in the rustle of dancing leaves.
In the rainbow's spectrum I see your sighs,
Like poems with melodic rhymes.
Alone, I treasure your touch and your breathing.
Our spirits, unfettered, follow delicious trails of fantasy,
Til the trails end and you leave me in stark emptiness.

I see your mind in the splashing of dancing waters.
I hear your thoughts in the breezes that herald change.
In the morning dewdrops I see your tears,
Like tinkling of orchestral bells.
In thoughts I capture the warmth of your body.
Our two hearts, united, beat in rhythmical times and patterns.
'Til the dream fades and I start praying for your return.

I like the style of this poem, it is somewhat like a daydream
sitting at lunch thinking of places you could be,things you could do or people you could be with.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
