Born a Looser

Contributed by Jyssvw22 on Friday, 10th May 2013 @ 09:23:36 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

More noise than chatter
Less together than shattered
Distinctly bruised and battered
Loved you more
Not that it mattered
Not that you cared at all

Beauty standing not ten feet from me
Hardly noticing me
While I'm thinking about eternity
What a fool
Haven't even the courage to say hello
Yet expecting something magical to occur
"Hello handsome fellow"
The world doesn't spin at your whim
Life doesn't sit back and expect you win

Basking in the sun
My face soaks in the warmth
I stare towards the heavens
Not for answers
Rather for a future of worth
I stare at her standing
Not for ravishing
Rather for a friend to talk to
A kind spirit to embrace
I hope for her sake
She just walks away

She picks up her things to leave
She says goodbye to her friends
She throws me one last imaginary glance
And then she is off with the wind
Into the crowd
Gone just as quickly as she came
In all probability
Never to be see or heard from again
Such is a day in the life
Of a romantic with no heart
A lover with no counterpart
An king with no crown
A tightrope walker scared to look down
A freighted soul
With only further to fall
Below the ground
Where there is no life
Nothing at all

I can relate to this. It reminds me of the things I say to myself which are really quotations of what was said to me as a kid. Just in case this is about you; You! are not a loser.
