If only I had a heart
To feel something new
If only for a minute
If I'm lucky, maybe two
If only apathy left me
Even if it left me all alone
At least I would feel loneliness
I wouldn't feel numb to my bones
I wish that I was better
I wish that I had a use
If I only had a heart, my dear
I wouldn't stand for this abuse
The lapses in my lethargy
Reveal nothing but disdain
I think, maybe not to feel at all
Would be better than that pain
My heart seems so pathetic
My mind cant but condemn
I'd travel through space and time, my love
To be anyone else or just end.

Riveting. Well expressed and written. I would argue that your points in favor of an end , rather than a new you are weak and require no effort. Becoming a better person, a happy person, a new you requires effort and hard work through pain, although no one can argue its rewards. Make the best of each moment as best as each moment allows you to make it.
