Sun continues to come up each morning
Eyes open, coffee's brewed, eggs cooked
Day progresses, happenstance, no warning
Love hoped, danger approaches, life overworked
I look into your eyes and see the one I've loved
Your words sound the same today as yesterday
When our hands touched, I thanked God above
So glad you've walked by me the whole way
Love of my life, heart that continues my beat
Grey hair, wrinkles, and trauma within our life
Yet, when you touch me, my life is complete
You listen with tired ears, yet take my strife
Never thought I'd find the one that was so needed
Always thought my road would be so lonely
Heavens, my life has more than succeeded
Until time ends, you will be my one and only
