The Immortal Herald

Contributed by Wordsmith123 on Sunday, 16th June 2013 @ 01:38:24 AM in AEST
Topic: mythology

A journey all too suddenly began:
My fare paid, and fate thus sealed.
Water, smooth and chill, skirts the craft.
I cast my gaze behind in mournful longing.
Despite my pleas, we cannot turn back;
It is too late.
Ahead, the horizon is swallowed,
Dipped in bloody red and plastered to the sky.
Again I cry to the soulless captain of my vessel;
I am met with deafening nothingness.
A path by countless legions tread before,
And yet I stand alone in this endeavor.
At venture's end, guided by the bony
Claw of the Immortal Herald,
Pointing into eternity,
I march to embrace destiny.
