The Empty Space in Me

Contributed by cherryamber on Sunday, 30th June 2013 @ 12:53:59 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

when i lye alone at night

when all the masks of the day are

ripped away, and the voices of others that

deafen the screaming within are replaced by only by the

Moon's music in the wind

When the pleasures of the sunlight are enveloped in

the darkness, that is when this black hole wants to bury

my casket

This empty space that sits right under my chest, that I try to

cover with love, and drugs, and writing and sex

It empties its toxins through me
Like cyanide that poisons the

divine that flow through me

This empty space in me that cannot be filled, and continues to scream

That no matter what I do, I can never give it what it needs

The emptiness that on lonely nights, when everything is ripped away

that forces me to hold down on my brachial artery-to check it is still

beating

Sometimes at night

I am holding my butcher knife

Feeling like ripping apart my skin,
and searching for this hollow space

This nauseating hole within

Sometimes at night, I feel like tearing apart

my fibres, tangling every artery, desperately

rummaging through every organ, misplacing

every vessel, swallowing everything
just to

find this space

So I can fill it in
